This year (2020) marks the first year that Railway Heritage Trust has not produced an annual review, instead opting to produce a brochure plus ongoing case studies of either station architecture or individual station regenerations. Building on the work previously done the design is much more focussed on the work of Railway Heritage Trust rather than individual projects and grants awarded. A more open approach with the design using staggered text columns engineered around sensible column breaks and overlaps with a text grid for text and an image grid for, well, images.
There is a lot of photography available and we didn’t want to underplay this so in order to keep clean lines the design uses collected captions with image ‘maps’ — this is not a common solution but one that helps keep everything in its place.
