Winchester City Council

As well as the Visit Winchester Guide, we produce identities, investment guides, digital presentations, and ‘walking’ leaflets for the tourism and major project departments – lots of maps and infographics. For the Festivals in Winchester project we needed a solution to allow tourism to market, as a whole, each of the 30-odd festivals throughout the year. We developed a colourful ‘tiles’ system, which marks the month, season, and days for every festival, as well as using their own brand colours. Each tile is different but works within a consistent system.

Winchester Guildhall required their events collateral to move beyond the existing identity guidelines. We extended the colour palette and introduced two primary typefaces as well as defining a visible ‘container’ as part of the structure, which will allow for visual consistency across brochures, guides, and posters as well as any future collateral too.
From the outset it was clear that David and Liz would bring something new to the table. We valued their ability to stop, step back and review from brief and at each proof stage. The result is a publication [Visit Winchester Guide] that has evolved beyond our expectations. Our customer and industry feedback is that it is the best Guide yet. I would not hesitate to recommend them, particularly their strengths in brand refreshment, brand development and brand consistency.
